ABOUT YOUR COACH
Edward Singletary, Jr. is a seasoned actor, producer, and acting coach with over 25 years of experience in the entertainment industry. He began his career on stage in Southern California and transitioned to the screen with a debut opposite Mark Hamill and Sally Kirkland in Thank You, Good Night (1998). Since then, he has appeared in various film and television roles, including Monsters (Netflix), Paradise (Hulu), American Crime Story: The Assassination of Gianni Versace, Lethal Weapon, and Ratched (Netflix), opposite Sarah Paulson.
STUDIO FOR ACTING
Beyond acting, Edward has produced award-winning films and content for global brands such as Roku, Target, and TCL. Notable productions include Joshua Tree, 1951: A Portrait of James Dean, The Kaos Brief, and the documentary Absent (available on Amazon). His short film Delphinium: A Childhood Portrait of Derek Jarman was acquired by the British Film Institute for preservation in the National Film Archive.
Leveraging his extensive industry experience, Edward founded the Studio for Acting in Los Angeles, where he has spent over 20 years coaching actors and media professionals. His coaching philosophy integrates practical on-camera techniques with insights into casting and production, aiming to empower performers to deliver authentic and compelling performances. Whether preparing for auditions, enhancing on-screen presence, or navigating the complexities of the entertainment industry, Edward offers personalized coaching to help actors achieve their goals.
